Mixing high/low priced pieces

With cooler weather layering for me, is key. Often times I find myself using a variety of priced pieces. As I have gotten older I have realized that it is worth spending the money on certain timeless pieces that will last forever and can be handed down.  Other pieces that are fashionable and maybe not so timeless I don't see a need to spend an arm and a leg on. With that being said, I realize this cashmere ruana may not be within reach of everyone but if you keep an eye on it after Christmas they usually go on clearance for 75% off or so. Worth every penny. 

This dress is however, very reasonable at $25 from target and I may buy the other two colors it is that good. It is like wearing a sweatshirt as a dress. Run don't walk and get it immediately before everyone else finds out about its amazingness!
